Totaling 352,000 square feet, Taylor Place is the first student housing facility built for Arizona State University's Downtown Phoenix Campus. Comprised of dual fourteen (14) story towers, the project's upper twelve (12) stories contains 632 student rooms and are home too in excess of 1,000 students during the school year. The lower two (2) stories are mixed-use areas made up of dining facilities, offices and retail space. SES served in a design-assist capacity with the Owner (Capstone Development), the Tenant (ASU), the architect (Smith-Group), the General Contractor (Austin Commercial), as well as all major subs during pre-construction. The "Team" concept adopted for the project by the Owner for its project enabled SES to join the project Team early on and to provide input in the areas of budgeting, product specification / selection, long-lead material procurement, materials management, site logistics, scheduling, constructibility and overall project coordination. Employing BIM Technology during construction allowed for the project Team to determine and assess trade clash detection ahead of time, BEFORE it was discovered in the field.
