Project Description
The Sierra Vista Environmental Operations Park (EOP) consists of 640 acres and offers fifty (50) acres of constructed wetlands that, along with native grasses provides a bird and wildlife habitat. At the heart of the EOP is a four (4) million gallon per day capacity wastewater reclamation facility (WRF), which includes a ten (10) acre complete mix/partial mix lagoon system and thirty (30) acres of recharge basins. The complete mix and partial mix treatment ponds include more than forty-five (45) aerators to mix the wastewater in order to nitrify and treat the water. These aerators run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Spectra Electrical Services, Inc. was contracted on this project to provide electrical power distribution, lighting, controls and instrumentation on this project which, when completed, allows for the City of Sierra Vista to collect biosolids for mixture into its composting efforts in lieu of hauling the biosolids to a landfill.
